Day 1 — Arrive Kathmandu & Pashupatinath
Arrive in Kathmandu by flight or across the Sunauli border, and check in. Evening at Pashupatinath on the banks of the Bagmati — one of the most revered Shiva temples anywhere. Only Hindus may enter the main sanctum. The evening Bagmati aarti on the far bank closes the day. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 2 — Kathmandu Temples
Morning darshan at Pashupatinath when the queues are shortest, then Guhyeshwari Temple, a Shakti Peeth close by. Afternoon at Budhanilkantha to see the reclining Vishnu carved from a single block of stone. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 3 — Kathmandu to Pokhara via Manakamana
Drive to Pokhara, stopping at Manakamana — the wish-fulfilling temple reached by cable car. Arrive Pokhara by evening. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 4 — Pokhara & Acclimatisation
A deliberately gentle day to let the body adjust before altitude. Bindhyabasini Temple, and Tal Barahi on Phewa Lake by boat. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 5 — Pokhara to Jomsom
Fly or drive to Jomsom in the Mustang valley. We overnight here at altitude rather than pushing straight up — this is the single most important part of the plan. Overnight in Jomsom.
Day 6 — Muktinath Darshan
Jeep to Muktinath at roughly 3,800 metres, sacred to Hindus and Buddhists alike. The 108 water spouts and the eternal flame. Carry a change of clothes for the ritual bath. Return to Jomsom or Pokhara.
Day 7 — Buffer Day
Held in reserve for weather. Mountain flights are cancelled often and this day is what keeps the yatra intact when they are. If the weather has been kind, it becomes a free day in Pokhara.
Day 8 — Return & Departure
Return to Kathmandu and connect to your onward flight or the border crossing home.
