This policy explains what personal information Pratap Travel collects when you use this website or book a yatra with us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to answer your enquiry and run your journey:
- Contact details — name, mobile number and email address, submitted through our enquiry, callback, contact, cab booking or payment forms.
- Travel details — travel dates, pickup and drop locations, number of travellers, destination and package preferences, and any special requests you tell us about.
- Payment references — the transaction ID or UTR number and the amount you report on our payment confirmation form. We do not collect or store card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs or net-banking passwords. Payments are made directly through your own bank or UPI app.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and pages visited, recorded automatically when you use the site.
2. How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To confirm and operate your booking, including sharing what suppliers need to serve you.
- To send booking-related messages such as confirmations, vouchers, pickup timings and itinerary changes.
- To verify payments and issue receipts.
- To keep records required for accounting and tax.
- To improve our website and services.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
3. Who we share it with
We share only the details necessary, and only with:
- Hotels, dharamshalas and guest houses, to hold your room.
- Transport operators and drivers, for pickups and the journey.
- Guides and pandits assigned to your yatra.
- Government registration portals where a yatra requires it, such as the Uttarakhand Char Dham registration.
- Our bank and payment processors, to verify a payment.
- Authorities, where we are required by law to disclose information.
4. WhatsApp and messaging
Where you choose to send your booking details to us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy. Sending us a message is entirely optional — every form on this site works without it.
5. Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies: a session cookie that keeps your form security code valid, and cookies set by embedded third-party services such as Google Translate and YouTube when you use them. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though some features may then not work.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to 24 months. Booking and payment records are kept for eight years to meet accounting and tax obligations. After that they are deleted or anonymised.
7. Security
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to booking records is restricted to authorised staff. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, or delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to prataptravel8889@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. You can also ask us to stop sending promotional messages at any time.
9. Children
Our services are booked by adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 18; details of children travelling are provided by the adult making the booking.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
