These terms govern every booking made with Pratap Travel, whether through this website, over the phone, on WhatsApp or in person at our office. By confirming a booking you accept them on behalf of everyone travelling in your party.
1. Making a booking
A booking becomes a contract only once we have received your advance payment and issued a written confirmation or booking voucher by email or WhatsApp. An enquiry, a verbal quote or a held reservation is not a confirmed booking, and rates quoted before confirmation are subject to availability.
The person making the booking must be 18 or over and is responsible for the accuracy of all details supplied, for passing our communications on to the rest of the party, and for payment of the full amount due.
2. Prices and what they include
- Quoted prices are per person on the occupancy stated in your itinerary, unless described otherwise.
- Inclusions and exclusions are listed on each package page and repeated on your booking voucher. Anything not listed as included is excluded.
- Personal expenses, tips, donations, camera fees, VIP darshan or special aarti passes, medical costs and travel insurance are not included.
- Prices may change before confirmation because of hotel tariff revisions, fuel price movements, toll or parking increases, or changes to government taxes. Once your booking is confirmed and the advance is paid, your price is fixed except where a government levy changes.
3. Payment
An advance is required to confirm any booking, with the balance due before departure. Full details are set out in our Payment Terms. We reserve the right to treat a booking as cancelled if the balance is not received by the due date.
4. Documents and identification
Every traveller must carry valid government photo identification. For Nepal itineraries, Indian nationals must carry a valid passport or a Voter ID card issued by the Election Commission of India — Aadhaar and PAN cards are not accepted as travel documents for Nepal. For the Char Dham yatra, registration with the Uttarakhand government is mandatory and must be completed before departure.
We are not liable for any loss where a traveller is refused travel, entry or darshan because of missing, expired or unacceptable documents.
5. Health, fitness and altitude
Several of our yatras involve walking, steps, long road journeys and high altitude. Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Muktinath in particular require a reasonable level of fitness. You must tell us at the time of booking about any medical condition, mobility limitation, pregnancy or dietary requirement that may affect the journey.
Travellers over 55, and anyone with a cardiac, respiratory, diabetic or blood-pressure condition, should obtain medical clearance before booking a high-altitude yatra. Each traveller is responsible for assessing their own fitness to travel.
6. Conduct during the journey
Travellers are expected to be punctual at pickup points, to respect temple customs, dress codes and photography restrictions, and to follow the instructions of our guide, driver and local authorities. We may end a traveller's journey without refund where their behaviour endangers others, causes serious disruption, or breaks the law. Any damage caused to a vehicle or hotel room is payable by the traveller concerned.
Consumption of alcohol, tobacco and non-vegetarian food is prohibited in many of the towns we visit and in most of our vehicles.
7. Changes we may need to make
Itineraries are planned carefully but depend on conditions we do not control. We may reorder sightseeing, substitute a hotel of a similar standard, or change a vehicle where operationally necessary. Where a change is significant and within our control, we will tell you as soon as possible and offer an alternative or a refund of the affected component.
Temple darshan timings, aarti schedules and government registration rules are set by the temple committees and authorities, not by us, and are subject to change without notice.
8. Cancellation
Cancellations by you, and by us, are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
9. Limits of our responsibility
We act as a tour operator and, in arranging hotels, transport, guides and other services, as an agent for those independent suppliers. We take reasonable care in selecting them, but we are not liable for their acts or omissions, nor for loss, delay, injury, illness or damage arising from events outside our reasonable control, including weather, landslides, road or temple closures, strikes, traffic, vehicle breakdown, government action or acts of God.
Our maximum liability in any circumstance is limited to the amount you have paid us for the affected booking. We strongly recommend that every traveller holds their own travel and medical insurance.
10. Complaints
If something goes wrong during your yatra, tell your guide or driver and call our travel desk immediately so we can put it right while you are still travelling. Complaints raised after the journey has ended are harder to resolve. Written complaints should reach us within 30 days of your return at prataptravel8889@gmail.com.
11. Photography and marketing
We may photograph groups during a tour and use those images on our website and social media. Tell your guide if you would prefer not to appear, and we will exclude you.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
